Art is the queen of all sciences communicating knowledge to all the generations of the world. - Leonardo da Vinci

Raphaelle Jayet Ng, is a Singapore-based Arts Practioner who graduated from Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts, majoring in Visual Arts - Painting in 2006. Jayet works predominantly with Oil and Acrylic Painting, while she is still inquisitively experimenting, exploring with different material and medium to delve further into her personal studies for her own artworks.

Her artistic process began at a young age; being the only child with only herself to turn to. Art became a form of play, a teaching medium to learn how to solve problems as well as a little human being.  She believes in the importance of art for a child’s mental and emotional development – The freedom to express personal thoughts and emotions without judgments or prejudice.

A recipient of Winston Oh Travel award in 2005, in which the interactive installation confronts the idea between real space and imagined space; as we back-tracked through the fragmentations of our memories, a truthful story told, and perceived not as what it should be. Everybody has an idea of personal truth and that is not everybody’s truth.

She believes nurturing young minds is like growing a seed. It takes patience, time, love, openness and meeting their needs.

To leave behind, not a child who stays here forever, but a child who developed the passion for learning, the spirit of living, a child who can go forth anywhere else to thrive and inspire others with their own characters and personality. For after all, we are our own masterpieces - art is about living one's personal truth!

I believe that to teach them effectively you must touch their hearts long before you begin to teach their minds    -Vicki Savini, from Ignite The Light
